[Firefox] Video Downloadhelper, Download Flash Videos from Youtube, Dailymotion, and More
June 5th, 2009
We all stumble onto videos that we would like to keep a copy of on our hard drives. But, sites like You Tube give us no such option. That’s where “Video DownloadHelper” comes in. It’s a Firefox extension which allows you to simply download the video you’re watching at the moment, with a click of a button.
Here is how it works:
1. From Firefox, click here to download the add-on.
2. Go to your favorite flash video site, like You Tube, and start the video (this works with many others flash video sites, not just You Tube).
3. Click the Video Downloadhelper icon to the right of the Home button, choose the appropriate flv file, and click “Download”.
4. Save the flash (.flv) file anywhere you’d like.
5. You can view the file using VLC media player. You can also convert them to .Mp4, .Mpg, .Avi and more using MPEG_Streamclip.
