[iPhone] iPhone 3g 2009 Pics (Rumored)
June 3rd, 2009
This is hideous, and hopefully (more like most-likely) a rumor. The new iPhone is rumored to have a rubberized back, which I am very happy about. It does a great job of taking the impact from drops, and also preventing scratches. Scratches are inevitable with the iPhone 3G. Sure it was nice and pretty, but the glossy surface was very hard to maintain. Even cases would scratch it up real fast.
What I don’t like about the rumored design is the glowing Apple logo in the back- kind of like the Macbooks have. This is not only cheesy, but also very bad for the battery life. I have a hard time believing Apple would go with that design. As the WWDC conference is quickly approaching (June 9th, 2009), we will have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us.
Another big rumor going around is that Apple will offer 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB versions of the new iPhone at launch. As you can see from the picture on the left, a leaked internal presentation from Fido Canada, shows an upcoming 4GB model at $99- and what else? “Video Calling (iChat)”
If this is a reality, it is big news! Although Apple may be forced to lock the feature from 3G signal, so it may be Wi-Fi only like iTunes downloads. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
